Alex Ham
Alex has over 17 years’ experience in materials engineering and integrity management. He left university with a BEng, MSc and PhD in Materials Engineering and joined the UK Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (now QinetiQ), selecting materials and coating systems for naval applications and investigating failure causes for a variety of components, both metallic and composite. He then spent several years managing integrity in the water industry, both in the UK and Australia. He joined Wood Group Group in 2008, first leading the materials and integrity team on the post pre FEED and FEED stages of Ichthys before moving to Gorgon as Integrity Lead for the last 5 years. He is also now SURF Team Lead in the Ops Support Group, which provides subsea integrity management, inspection and fast turnaround ad hoc support to a wide variety of clients.
