Markus is holding Phd. degree in mechatronics engineering and has a background of the development of highly reliable mechatronic drive systems for over 20 years ranging from bone elongation actuators to mission critical defence applications. During his industrial career Markus was engineering manager at WITTENSTEIN for the subsea and defence solutions group. Markus is now leading the research institute for high integrity mechatronic systems at Aalen University. The focus of the research are battery based fail safe actuation systems for subsea valves.
